Beliefs
People at dcf come from all sorts of backgrounds, but this is the heart of what we believe.
There is one God, creator of heaven and earth, eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
concerning God
Man was created in the image of a holy God. Sin, however, has brought about physical and spiritual death leaving the human race separated from a holy God.
concerning man
Jesus Christ, fully man and God, was sinless and perfect. His death on the cross serves as the only sacrifice for our sins. After being buried, Christ rose from the dead proving the validity of the cross and demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will one day return again.
concerning jesus christ
The Holy Spirit indwells those who know Him. He serves as our guide, comforter, counselor, and empowers us to live a godly life.
concerning the holy spirit
Salvation is a gift from God to man. No amount of good works can ever make up for man’s sin. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be freed from sin’s penalty.
concerning salvation
The eternal destiny of an individual is sealed at death. There will be a resurrection of all people. Unbelievers will be separated from God to face eternal judgment and condemnation in hell. Believers will be with God, and will be rewarded for works done in this life.
concerning human destiny
The Bible is inspired of God, without error, and is our authority in faith and life. It guides us both as individuals and as a church.
concerning the bible
As an individual comes to know God they become a member of the body of Christ, the Church. As part of the Church we commit ourselves to gather together to glorify God and to reach out to the world.
